On January 1, 2018, the revised dental care DENTOTAR® came into force for the billing of dental services. Its application is mandatory for members of the SSO (Swiss Dental Association) and should ensure greater cost transparency.
The previous tariff was 25 years old. Legal and business conditions have changed considerably. The treatment methods and materials also differ greatly from the old catalog of services. Therefore, the service catalog has been reworked and adapted.
Partly, obsolete positions were deleted altogether, some new positions were added. For example, a basic fee for workplace disinfection is charged per session to compensate for the extra work required for the stricter quality guidelines in the sterilization and reprocessing of the instruments used.
The tax point value for billing with the tariff partners UV / MV / IV was set at CHF 1.00. In the private sector, the tax point value for SSO members should not exceed 1.70. The new tax point value in our practice is at 1.2 for appointments with the dentist. For dental hygienists the tax point value is 1.07.
It is important to us that our prices do not vary greatly after the introduction of the new dental tariff and that our patients are offered high quality dentistry at fair prices.
